Hosted by the Pan Arab Association of Radiological Societies (PAARS) in collaboration with the International Society of Radiology (ISR) and in partnership with The Radiology Society of The Emirates, this landmark event is a hub of innovation, knowledge, and networking in the realm of radiology and artificial intelligence.

Against the stunning backdrop of Dubai, we’ve gathered to explore the forefront of radiology, focusing particularly on the transformative potential of artificial intelligence. Our forum features a rich array of tracks covering topics such as the AI revolution in radiology, clinical confidence in AI, AI roadmap, cardiovascular imaging, musculoskeletal (MSK) imaging, women’s imaging, and abdominal imaging. Each track represents a crucial facet of radiology, and we’re eager to uncover the possibilities they hold.

Over the course of two days, expect insightful discussions, knowledge-sharing sessions, and the opportunity to forge connections that will shape the future of radiology. Overview:

The PAARS AI Imaging Innovators Challenge is a prestigious competition organized by the Pan Arab Association of Radiological Societies (PAARS) in collaboration with the Emirates Society of Radiology (RSE) and the International Society of Radiology (ISR). This collaborative effort brings together leading organizations in the field of radiology to promote innovation and excellence in medical imaging and artificial intelligence (AI).

 

Objectives:

  • Promote Innovation: Encourage participants to explore innovative AI techniques and methodologies for improving medical imaging quality, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Advance Healthcare: Address pressing challenges in healthcare and radiology through the development of AI-driven solutions that enhance patient care, diagnosis, and treatment outcomes.
  • Support Collaboration: Foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among participants, industry experts, and researchers in the field of medical imaging and AI.
  • Empower Talent: Provide a platform for emerging talents, students, and professionals to demonstrate their skills, creativity, and expertise in AI and medical imaging.

  • Participants are required to submit their AI solutions along with detailed documentation, code, and results demonstrating the effectiveness and performance of their algorithms.
  • Submissions will be evaluated based on criteria such as innovation, accuracy, speed, scalability, and potential clinical impact.

Target Audience:

  • Radiologists, healthcare professionals, and industry stakeholders involved in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of medical conditions using imaging technologies.

 

Timeline:

  • The challenge will be officially launched on [15 June 2024], with submissions accepted until [15 August 2024].
  • Evaluation and judging of submissions will take place from [15 August-1 September].
  • Winners will be announced and recognized during the awards ceremony at the PAARS AI Forum.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS GUIDELINES 

  • All abstracts should be written in clear English
  • All presenting authors should have proficiency in English, to be able to present and respond to questions. Otherwise, authors are encouraged to choose poster  presentation.
  • Abstracts must be submitted via the online abstract submission site.
  • You must receive the approval of all co-authors before putting their names on the abstract.
  • All abstracts must be submitted to an appropriate category for review based on the scientific content of the abstract.

       Titles:

  • The title should be dynamic and conclusive, rather than descriptive.
  • Authors: One person must be identified as the presenting author. The order of the authors can be modified at any time prior to the abstract deadline.
  • Abstract Text: All abstracts should be 250 words or less. Do not include your title or authors in the abstract text. Do not include references. Graphics/images are not recommended. In clinical studies, please state  ethical issues e.g. informed consent and IRB approval.
  • Content of the Abstract: The abstract should contain a brief statement of (but not as subheadings):
  • Background
  • Objective(s) of the study
  • Materials/subjects and methods used
  • Essential results, including data and, where appropriate, statistics.
  •  
  • Keywords: up to three
  • All submitted abstracts will be peer-reviewed. The accepted abstracts will be published in the “Forum Abstract Book” handed out to the conference attendees.
  • The submitting author will receive a confirmation of acceptance for oral presentation, poster presentation, poster without presentation or a notice of rejection.
  • Authors of abstracts selected for an oral presentation will be informed about the type and date of the session and presentation guidelines will be provided.
  • Poster presenters will be informed about the date of the poster session and will receive guidelines for their presentation

 

Important dates

  • Submission deadline: 01 August 2024
  • Submissions received after this deadline will not be considered. Presenters are not permitted to modify their abstracts after this date for reviewing purposes.
  • Notification of abstracts acceptance: will be announced on 15-August 2024

 

Author agreement

All Authors must agree to the following conditions when submitting an abstract:

  • Affirm that the work has not been published (in print or electronically) elsewhere prior to the 2nd PAARS AI Forum 2024
  • Agree that if the abstract is accepted, 2nd PAARS AI Forum has permission to publish the abstract in printed and/or electronic formats.

 

Author changes and withdrawal policy

If you are unable to attend the meeting and wish to name a substitute presenter, please use the following guidelines:

  • The Presenting Author is the only author that may request a presenter change.
  • Substitute presenter must NOT be presenting another abstract at the meeting.
  • Substitution requests must be made PRIOR to the meeting.
  • Substitution requests should be sent by the presenting author to the below email: Khaled.elsawy@icomgroup.org
  • Withdrawal policy: If authors wish to withdraw their abstracts, they are requested to send a letter via e-mail to the above-mentioned email
